Reception Manager / Duty Manager

RESPONSIBLE TO:  Managing Director

HOURS OF WORK:  40 Hours

JOB TYPE: Full-time, Permanent

SALARY :  £ 23,920.00 pa

STATEMENT OF PURPOSE:

Responsible to the Managing Director for: –

Overseeing the Front Desk Operation, you will have a strong presence in the Hotel, leading and motivating a team to deliver excellent customer service. Be actively involved in all areas of the Front Desk and Nights Team. You will ensure the training and development of your team, empowering them to drive the business at every opportunity, especially during peak periods, to maximise revenues and ensure the best customer service is delivered consistently. Ensure Hotel standards are always delivered and drive the Hotel towards the overall business goal. You will take care of guests from their arrival through to their departure from the Hotel. You will always contribute to guest satisfaction by providing high quality services throughout the guests’ stay. You will act as Duty Manager as required by your rota. Promote the Hotel at every opportunity and help meet the Department’s targets.

Reception Manager with Duty Manager Responsibilities must have a flexible approach to working hours as the business demands and will need to cover their departmental day and evening shifts as required. Be a Team Player and be able and willing to assist other Heads of Department, when necessary, to ensure the smooth running of the hotel and ultimate guest satisfaction.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maximise room occupancy
  • Maximise revenue opportunities
  • Maximising guest’s satisfaction
  • Monitoring conversion of enquiries into bookings
  • Maintains close relationships with guests throughout their stay to foster loyalty
  • Anticipates guests’ needs and takes them into consideration.
  • Handles guest complaints if they have not been dealt with by team members and provides a rapid solution
  • Ensures that the hotel’s pricing policy is correct
  • Keeps the database up to date
  • Ensures that guest documentation and information is available and up to date
  • Act as the first point of contact for new clients and business.
  • Develops employees’ motivation and team spirit by creating a good working atmosphere
  • Carries out annual performance appraisals for team members and sets targets
  • Trains the team to use and apply sales pitches
  • Sets the daily targets for the team
  • Ensures that invoicing and cash operation procedures are respected. Updates staff to communicate daily targets and performance scores with team (revenue, occupancy rates, average room rate, activity forecasts, headcount planning, quality survey scores, etc.)
  • Manages the department’s headcount for optimum efficiency
  • Generate new leads and business
  • Manage the debtors
  • Manage department budget for stationary
  • To be aware of department’s Standards of Procedure and ensure that your team have full knowledge of the same, and to provide training if necessary to your team to fill any skill gaps
  • Liaise with Head Housekeeper regarding hotel maintenance and cleanliness of all front of house areas
  • Daily meeting with Head Housekeeper regarding maintenance in hotel
  • Attend Management and Heads of Department meetings
  • To promote a safe, healthy, and environmentally secure environment
  • To ensure the ongoing compliance with statutory requirements relating to GDPR

 

Food and Beverage Supervisor

RESPONSIBLE TO : Restaurant Manager

HOURS OF WORK : 40 Hours

JOB TYPE : Full-time Permanent

SALARY :  £ 20,800.00 pa

STATEMENT OF PURPOSE:

Responsible to Restaurant Manager –

The effective and efficient management of the food and beverage operation provided by the Restaurants, Bars, Function and Conference facilities, with the aim that they provide the highest level of customer service, are cost effective, achieve target and raise the profile of the Trout Hotel.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • To act as team leader within the Restaurants & Bars.
  • Manage the day to day business of the Restaurants, Bars and Boardroom.
  • To act as Duty Manager as required.
  • To promote a customer focused culture within the Restaurants by example and by encouraging in house training of all team members through an agreed training plan with the Restaurant Manager.
  • To implement the Standard Operation Procedures for all team members within this department.
  • Complete inductions with new team members.
  • Deal effectively with customer comments and complaints
  • To be able to work within any section within the Food and Beverage department as and when required.
  • To be responsible for managing the time keeping records for all team members on your shift.
  • Compile restaurant and bar rotas, forward planning and staff training.
  • To maintain the cleanliness of the Restaurants , Bars and report to the Restaurant Manager any maintenance issues.
  • Comply with all relevant legislation relating to health and safety, food hygiene regulations and licensing legislation
  • Attend Food and beverage meetings when required.
  • To promote a safe, healthy and environmentally secure environment.
  • Attend training sessions and training activities as requested.
  • Any other reasonable request of the line manager.

WAITING/BAR STAFF

RESPONSIBLE TO:  Restaurant Manager

HOURS OF WORK:  A variety of Shifts Available

JOB TYPE: Part-time, Temporary,

SALARY: £9.00 per hour

STATEMENT OF PURPOSE:

Responsible to the Restaurant Manager for:

The effective service of the food and beverage operation provided by the Restaurant, Bistro, Lounge Bar, Function and Conference facilities, with the aim that they provide the highest level of customer service.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Adhere to the standard operating procedures for your department.
  • Preparing the Restaurant, Bistro or Bar Areas for service
  • Serving food and beverages as per standards.
  • Dealing with customer requests as per standards.
  • Promote a customer focused culture within the Restaurants
  • Taking orders, processing bills and payments via EPOS
  • Cleaning down and keeping dining and subsidiary areas, clean, safe and organised.
  • Maintaining the cleanliness of the Restaurant, Bistro, Lounge Bar.
  • Report any maintenance issues to the Restaurant Supervisors.
  • Attend training sessions and training activities as requested.
  • Comply with all relevant company legislation relating to health and safety, food hygiene regulations and licensing legislation in your department.
  • To promote a safe, healthy and environmentally secure environment.
  • Any other reasonable request of the line manager.

SKILLS

The ability to work and communicate effectively with the general public, other members of the team and with all levels of management, good timekeeping. Previous experience working in hospitality or customer service role.

 

HOUSEKEEPING ASSISTANT

RESPONSIBLE TO :  Head Housekeeper

HOURS OF WORK :  Part Time

JOB TYPE :  Part time

SALARY :  £ 9.00 per hour

STATEMENT OF PURPOSE:

Responsible to the Head Housekeeper for: –

The effective cleanliness and maintenance of the Trout Hotel, with the aim that they provide the highest level of cleanliness throughout the hotel and provide excellent customer service.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • To ensure agreed standard of cleanliness and hygiene are maintained in all bedrooms and public areas agreed with the Head Housekeeper.
  • To look for areas that the housekeeping department can improve on the cleanliness and facilities we offer our guests.
  • To provide excellent customer service.
  • Maintain the Standard Operating Procedures provided for the housekeeping department.
  • To ensure that all equipment, furniture and furnishings are maintained, checked and kept in good working order and report relevant faults.
  • Ensure that requests from guests are carried out in a timely manner.
  • Ensure that any complaints or feedback are dealt with in a timely manner and passed on to the Head Housekeeper.
  • Liaising with your supervisor and head housekeeper as required.
  • Take all reasonable steps to ensure the safety of guests, property and the building.
  • To promote a safe, healthy and environmentally secure environment.
  • To ensure the ongoing compliance with statutory requirements relating to the work of the Department.
  • Adhere to all health and safety procedures.
  • Attend training sessions and training activities as requested.
  • Any other reasonable request of the line manager.
