Sous Chef

We’re looking for a talented, motivated and organised individual who can help make sure our kitchen runs like clockwork. You must be passionate about food with previous experience of working in a similarly high-quality environment.

What you’ll do

  • Support and train chefs from the chef de partie and below
  • Prepare food in areas of the kitchen assigned by a superior and carry out cleaning and any reasonable duties requested
  • Manage the running of the kitchen when required or asked to do so
  • Help ensure a safe environment for both staff and guests and adhere to the company’s health and safety policy and procedures
  • Assist the Head Chef in the effective and efficient organisation, supervision and control of the kitchen operation
  • Prepare, cook and portion all dishes to the hotel’s standards of quality and quantity

The ideal candidate will possess proven previous experience with a passion for the dishes they prepare. Strong organisation skills and attention to detail are important for this role.


Chef de partie

  • We are looking for a talented and passionate Chef de Partie to join our Kitchen team, Excellent culinary skills
  • To be self-motivated and show a willingness to learn
  • To have a flair and enthusiasm to produce new and exciting dishes.
  • An ability to lead & support other members of the catering team
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively.
  • Takes care of daily food preparation and duties assigned through the superiors to meet the standard and the quality set by the Head Chef
  • Coordinates daily tasks with the Sous Chef
  • Responsible to supervise junior chefs or commis
  • Able to estimate the daily production needs and checking the quality of raw and cooked food products to ensure that standards are met.
  • Ensure that the production, preparation and presentation of food are of the highest quality always
  • Ensure highest levels of guest satisfaction, quality, operating and food costs on an ongoing basis
  • Knowledge of all standard procedures and policies pertaining to food preparation, receiving, storage and sanitation
  • Full awareness of all menu items, their recipes, methods of production and presentation standards
  • Ensure effective communication between staff by maintaining a secure and friendly working environment
  • Responsible for hygiene, safety and correct use of equipment and utensils
  • Ability to produce own work in accordance with a deadline and to assist and encourage others in achieving this aim
  • Carry out any other duties as required by management.

Housekeeping team member

Part time

Salary: £8.91 per hour

We are looking for reliable, friendly and enthusiastic individual that have an eye for detail.

Main responsibilities involve maintaining a high standard when executing cleaning duties in our guest bedrooms and public areas.

  • Previous experience is preferable but not essential as full training will be provided. To clean and maintain all guests and public rooms to the protocol
  • To clean the reception, bar and public toilets to the protocol.
  • To assist with all aspects of linen use and storage.
  • To assist with restocking/refilling and maintaining trolleys, boxes and cleaning equipment.
  • To know and observe all Health and Safety regulations related to the job.
  • To assist with the running/use of cleaning rota and job sheets.
  • To inform reception/management immediately of any maintenance problems you.

TITLE: Receptionist

LOCATION: Trout Hotel

RESPONSIBLE TO: Front of House Manager

HOURS OF WORK: 30 Hours over a four day period

JOB TYPE: Full-time, Permanent


Responsible to the Front of House Manager for: –

The effective and efficient delivery of the Reception department at the Trout Hotel, with the aim that they provide the highest level of customer service, maximise room occupancy, achieve highest room rate, and raise the profile of the Trout Hotel


  • Maximising guest’s satisfaction.
  • Deal with all telephone enquiries in a polite and effective manner.
  • Ensure that excellent customer care is promoted throughout the department.
  • Ensure the reception department work to the Standard Operating Procedures.

From the initial phone call, reservation, confirmation, check-in, stay and check out.

  • Ensure that correct information is available for each department within the hotel.
  • Deal with any customer requests as appropriate or pass them to the relevant department.
  • Maximise room occupancy.
  • Maximise room rate.
  • To ensure the Trout Hotel comply with all relevant legislation relating to health and safety, food hygiene regulations and licensing legislation
  • To promote a safe, healthy and environmentally secure environment.
  • Attend training sessions and training activities as requested.
  • Any other reasonable request of the line manager.
