If you’ve never visited the Lake District in Autumn, this gallery of photos proves that it’s a truly magical time for a hotel break in the Lake District.
The autumnal hues that descend on the Lake District during Autumn are well and truly marvellous. A palette of red, orange, brown and yellow transform the region into a riot of colour, creating the perfect opportunity to capture a great photo. Tree lined paths scattered with fallen leaves offer ‘leading lines’ and interesting lighting potential. And if you happen to be around when there is low mist or a temperature inversion, the scene will be oozing with atmosphere.
To celebrate the arrival of Autumn, we asked our Social Media followers to send in their photos of the Lake District in Autumn – with the aim of showcasing the region’s year-round beauty. Highlights from the collection, which can be seen below, include serene lakes, seasonal toadstools and stunning stone bridges, all taken within the Trout Hotel’s square mile.
The winning photo was taken by Diana Williams. She captured a magical moment from Ouse Bridge, Bassenthwaite where a blue sky, interesting clouds and the lake all came together to create a fantastic scene.
